DESCRIPTION

QUALITATIVE FILTER PAPER

Usage:Primarily used for filtering precipitates. In chemical analysis experiments, it is employed to separate solid impurities from solutions. For example, in the experiment of purifying crude salt, qualitative filter paper can be used to filter out insoluble impurities such as sediment in the crude salt solution.

Characteristics:The paper is porous, with a certain filtration speed, allowing liquids to pass through relatively quickly while retaining larger - sized solid particles. It has a relatively low cost, making it suitable for general filtration needs. However, its ability to retain fine particles is limited.

QUANTITATIVECFILTER PAPER

Usage:Frequently used in gravimetric analysis experiments. When accurately determining the content of a substance, it is used to filter, wash, and incinerate the precipitate. For instance, in an experiment to determine the content of a certain metal element in an ore, quantitative filter paper is used to filter the metal precipitate for subsequent accurate weighing.

Characteristics:Compared with qualitative filter paper, quantitative filter paper is more dense, offering higher filtration accuracy for fine particles. Moreover, it has been specially treated so that the ash content after incineration is extremely low, without significantly interfering with the weight determination of the experimental results.
